Books I read in Q3 of 2022.
I am sharing the books I read during the third quarter of this year. I give two ratings, Recommend or Couldn’t Put Down. For a book to get a Recommend rating it had to be one I stayed engaged in and thoroughly enjoyed. A Couldn’t Put Down book rating is one I literally wanted to keep reading whenever I could. If there is no rating, the book didn’t meet the criteria to be rated.
I read eight books during the third quarter. Of those eight, three were non-fiction and five were fiction. The books are listed in the order I read them.
Meant to Be
by Emily Giffin
You better believe if there is a new Emily Giffin book I am going to grab it as soon as I can. I have read all of her books and Meant to Be did not disappoint. The book is about a golden rich boy and a girl with a troubled past navigating a love story that may be doomed before it even begins due to family influence. I couldn’t put this one down!

Book 20:2022
I Guess I Haven’t Learned That Yet: Discovering New Ways of Living When the Old Ways Stop Working
By: Shauna Niequist
I guess I haven’t Learned that Yet follows author Shauna through a move form the midwest to New York and through the pandemic. This book was an easy read and relatable to go a mother dealing with pandemic life.

Book Lovers
By: Emily Henry
I have read all of Emily Henry’s books. Her other two Books Beach Read and People We Meet on Vacation kept me interested, but Book Lovers fell flat for me.

Bomb Shelter: Love, Time, and Other Explosives
by Mary Laura Philpott
A biography that is fun to read. The author kept me laughing and relating to her life during the pandemic and life crisis. The relation to the turtles is fun too. If you are looking for a nonfiction book that is light hearted and relatable this one is a great choice!

Book 23:2022
The Blue Bistro
By: Elin Hilderbrand
I have not read a book by Elin Hilderbrand and been disappointed. The Blue Bistro is one on her older books, but it was another perfect summer read. Although there was a main storyline there were multiple side stories that gave this book a lot of detail.

Book 24:2022
The Cartographers
By: Peng Shepherd
Having a couple of degrees in geography I knew I had to read The Cartographers when I saw it recommended by multiple people this summer. It was a suspenseful book but seemed to drag on at parts. There is an imaginary craft in the book’s second half, which usually loses my interest because it doesn’t seem realistic, but this storyline was different. If you are looking for a different type of book to read this one is for you.

Book 25:2022
This Time Tomorrow
By: Emma Straub
As I mentioned before, fantasy usually isn’t my favorite type of book to read. This was another book that make the time travel seem realistic in the storyline so it did not lose my interest. This story is about a girl who is turning 40 and time travels back in time to when she was 16. The key storyline of the book is about her father who is sick and dying but she sees him in a new light when he was back in his 40s.

Book 26:2022
The Family Firm: A Data-Driven Guide to Better Decision Making in the Early School Years
By: Emily Oster
I have a Type A personality and enjoy planning. This book stole my heart pretty quickly. The author has an economic background and teaches business school framework for parents to think more deliberately about the key issues of the elementary years: school, health, extracurricular activities, and more.
