Pumpkin Picking and Farmtractions Theme Park at Stade’s Farm
McHenry, IL
With no school on Monday, we decided to take the day off work and head over to Stade’s Farm for our pumpkin farm fun. We went at the same time last year and the park wasn’t too busy. The weather could not have been more perfect for a day at the pumpkin patch.
Shades of Autumn fall fest includes over forty farm-related attractions and lots of family-orientated fun. There are so many attractions and rides to enjoy for all ages. Like most pumpkin farm they have a jumping pillow, but two are are setup age ranges, which felt safer. In addition, there are many large slides to go down including regular and tunnel.
The petting zoo is composed of farm animals where buying carrots and feed is an option. There are traditional carnival rides which include veggie cars, a Ferris wheel, and a merry-go-round.
One of the best parts of the farm is the homemade farm activities they have created throughout. Two of our favorites is the rope climbing hill and the zipline that is open to all ages.
Something I haven’t seen at other pumpkin farms in the area is pumpkin cannon demonstrations. You wait for the loud horn to go off and watch for a giant pumpkin cannon to shoot off!
After having hours of fun at the Fall Festival we headed over to the hayracks to get pulled out to the pumpkin patch to find the perfect pumpkin.
Stade’s Farm gives you the option to pick and pay for what you want to do. All of the attractions are included in the Fall Festival if you choose to do that. If you only want to go pumpkin picking with your family that is an option too. With our crowd, we decided to do it all and make a day of it. Don’t forget to grab a pack of fresh apple cider donuts from the Farm Market before you head out.
