Snow Tubing at Wilmot Mountain

Wilmot, WI

On our day off school and work we made a fun day at Wilmot Mountain. It was on our winter bucket list! Previous attempts to visit over winter break, and the Martin Luther King holiday didn’t work out with the warmer temperatures.

The temperatures finally dipped enough for the park to create snow without it melting for President’s Day. We bought tickets ahead of time to ensure we could visit the park, It was a good idea, because they did end up selling out!

The heigh requirement to tube is 42 inches. Lap sitting is not allowed. This was our first winter all three kids were tall enough. We knew our daredevil 4 year old would be fine on the hills.

Although you can’t sit together on one tub, you can tie tubes together. This allows a group of 4 or less to ride down a hill all together. This resulted in lots of laughs with our crew.

The great thing about snow tubing is that it really does work for all ages. Plus, you don’t need a lesson or to be skilled. It’s really for everyone! In addition, there are conveyor belts that allow you to jump on and take you back up the hill. No climbing hills required!

There were multiple hill lanes open so we never had to wait longer than a few minutes for our turn down the hill.

After tubing we stopped by the lodge for our free hot chocolate. On the warmer than normal winter day, we enjoyed sitting outside the lodge on their huge deck watching the tubers go down the hill.
