Stir-Fry: 7 easy steps
Stir-Fry is often my go-to dinner when I haven’t planned something and need to make something on a whim. The great thing about stir-fry is you can make it many ways from using shrimp, chicken, or tofu and using either noodles or rice for the base. I think every time I make stir-fry it’s different, but enjoyable each time. I’m going to share the steps to creating a stir-fry and then you can make it all your own by customizing it to your taste.
Step 1: Pick out a protein: chicken, shrimp, tofu, or maybe even beef. I went with chicken this time around.
Step 2: Decide on what vegetables you want to include. I usually grab anything I have in the fridge. Here I went with green onions, mushrooms, pea pods, carrots, bell pepper, and zucchini.
Step 3: Decide on a base for your stir fry. I often use brown rice, but decided to go with these Udon Noodles I had in the pantry. Prepare.
Step 4: Clean and cut all your veggies.
Step 5: Create a sauce for your stir-fry. For my sauce I used 8 T soy sauce. 2 T hoisin sauce, 3 garlic cloves (minced), 1 t ginger, and 1 t crushed red pepper (both David & I like spicy).
Step 6: Saute your vegetables in EVOO until cooked. I usually start cooking vegetables that take a little more time to saute such as carrots and add each veggie until they are all in the wok. This usually takes about 10 minutes. Then add your protein and sauce and combine.
Step 7: Serve your masterpiece on top of your base and there is it……7 steps to a healthy stir-fry in a matter of minutes.
