A morning at Legoland Discovery
Schaumburg, IL
On the last day of summer break for the boys, before they head back to school the next day, we do a special family day. This year we decided on visiting Legoland Discovery. The locations is about an hour away from our house and we went in with the plan to be there for the morning.
Legoland Discovery is located in the Streets of Woodfield. Parking is free and easy. We were greeted by the iconic Lego giraffe at the entrance.
On the first floor when you walk in there is a miniature replica of the city of Chicago. This was fun to discover iconic spots downtown such as The Bean, Soldier Field, and well known offices buildings.
The new Dreamz line of Lego was advertised well and got us interested.
We enjoyed the Journey on a Quest ride and then made our way upstairs to the open play area. First we explored the Duplo village area. This was a fun area for our youngest.
Then he went and joined his older brothers in the Lego ship playground area.
The favorite area by far for my boys was the Racers area. You were able to build your own vehicle and race against others on the track. Of course, their engineer Dad was trying to win this contest and give all tips.
There are multiple photo opportunities with the fun Lego creations that allow you to explore.
Another highlight of the visit was watching the Lego movie with fun 3D glasses.
