Mother’s Day 10K Race
Milwaukee, WI
I decided for Mother’s Day I wanted to do something I love that I don’t usually have time to do anymore. Race! I signed myself up for the Mother’s Day 10K in Milwaukee and told my family they were going to come to cheer me on. The location was beautiful in Veteran’s Park on Lake Michigan.
Before the 5K/10K races started there was a Kid’s Dash. . This was nothing formal other than lining up on the line by age and running 100 meters.
This was a fun extra thing to do to get the kids involved. Two of my children participated in this and received ribbons at the end. It looks like I may have a couple of future running partners.
The 5K and 10K races started at the same time and shared some of the same courses. The majority of the runners seemed to be Mom’s or families running with their Mom’s. It was so fun for me to get high-fives from my family along the course.
I enjoyed that the course started and end at the same spot. There was also a park nearby my husband took the kids to during the race. This allowed them to still be able to see me at the beginning, mid-way, and at the end of the race.
We ended the morning with brunch at Fire Engine No.3 in Milwaukee. My favorite thing to do after any race is to hydrate with a bloody mary. Cheers to all the Mother’s!
