My Trader Joe’s Favorites

Trader Joe’s is one of my favorite places to go, no not just one of my favorite grocery stores, but literally a favorite place of mine to go to! Something about the bright and sunny attitude in the place along with their special original items you can only get there (majority anyway) might have something to do with it. I am lucky enough to have one up the street from where I live so I go often. Although I have visited the store many times I am sure there are a ton more amazing items I still need to test, but for now here are some of my favorite items to pick up from Trader Joe’s.

Garlic Naan

These are great to make quick mini pizzas. They have original flavor as well, but I like the garlic for a little more kick. Recipe coming soon!

Roasted Red Pepper & Artichoke Tapenade

This is great for on top of the Garlic Naans as a topping. Or you can use it on top of toasted french bread as an easy appetizer.

Salsa Autentica /Verde

Although I only show the Salsa Autentica (red salsa) in the picture I love the Verde (green salsa) just as much. I love their salsa because it doesn’t have big chunks and it has great flavor. The green salsa goes great with chicken dishes and I like the red salsa with beef Mexican dishes more. They both go great with tortilla chips too!

Mandarin Orange Chicken

There isn’t much to say about this besides go try it and you will defiantly agree! It tastes like take out orange chicken from the local Chinese place, but baked right at home so easily and much cheaper.

Tomato Pesto Flatbread with Mozzarella Cheese

I haven’t found any other flatbread quite like this one. I often buy this if I know I am eating dinner alone so I can eat the whole thing by myself 🙂 The combination of flatbread, tomato, pesto, and mozzarella cheese just steals my heart or should I say taste buds?!?

Soy Creamy Vanilla Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert (Soy Ice Cream)

I am personally not much of a soy milk drinker or anything really soy related. However, this ice cream is healthier and has a great creamy taste. It goes great in milkshakes.

Pesto

This pesto tastes just like homemade and is much easier to make. I have only tried this one from the pasta section, but they also have a refrigerated one I need to try. I often mix a few spoonfuls of  just this with a lil parmesan and pasta for a quick meal.

Reduced Guilt Brownie Mix

Yep! Healthy brownies….well kind of. These you use their vanilla Greek yogurt in place of eggs and butter. They are moist and taste like the unhealthy kind, you won’t be able to tell the difference.

Enchilada Sauce

Some spice, but not too spicy. This is my go-to sauce for homemade enchiladas.

Tomato & Basil Hummus Dip

This is my all time favorite hummus! It’s sooo good, really it’s that good. I like hummus, but I would say this doesn’t taste like hummus much at all. I think it almost has a tomato soup flavor to it, which is one of my favorites. It goes great with pita chips for a snack.

I hope to explore and try new items each time I go to Trader Joe’s, they have so many unique things. Hopefully I can have a My Trader Joe’s Favorites 2 and maybe even 3 as time goes on.

What is your favorite item to get at Trader Joe’s?

If you don’t have a Trader Joe’s near you where is your favorite place to buy groceries?

I’m a big fan of the (frozen) feta and carmelized onion pastry bites! Perfect for a quick, easy, appetizer!
