Our first camping trip with all 5 of us.

Lake Geneva, WI

My husband and I enjoyed camping before kids. Dave has also gone on overnight trips with the older two with Cub Scouts. However, we had never done a tent camping trip with all five of us.

For our first trip we decided to stay closer to home. We picked Big Foot Beach State Park in Wisconsin as our location. I was able to book the two nights online months ahead of time through the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.

We loaded up the car on a Friday afternoon with the roof cargo carrier and hitch rack installed. It was not a quick task, but an hour later than planned we were off.

We cooked all our meals over the fire. From breakfast to dinner.

Fishing is available at Ceylon Lagoon. We were lucky enough to camp on the same weekend as a Fishing Derby put on by the Lake Geneva Fishing Club so the boys won new fishing gear. The boys all caught fish!

Then we headed across the street to swim in Lake Geneva.

We all slept through the night great!

Everyone had a terrific first weekend camping.
