Having a birthday on July 5th usually comes along with a few celebrations because of Independence day and just four days before my oldest son’s birthday. I let him have the party. This year my birthday fell on a Tuesday. After having a few days off for the holiday I decided to take the day off. I enjoyed going to a few local stores alone 🙂 Something I don’t get to do too often these days.

I do always enjoy a lunch or dinner out with my family to commemorate turning another year older. We met my sister and her family for a wonderful dinner of what other than tacos on a Tuesday? Milkway Taco in neighboring Libertyville was perfect! They even put us in our own private room, maybe the reservation with five kids wins you that.

Then I was on a mission to find a local ice cream shop. The kids were antsy and there was no way they were sitting still any longer to have dessert so we walked around downtown Libertyville, finding Sweet Home Gelato just up the street from dinner.
